I have a scrambler, a scupper pro, a malibu 2 and a little kea, all Ocean Kayaks.. I started paddling (and buying kayaks) when I lived in Hawaii, but they work just fine in streams and rivers in Fla.

QCC Q10X - 15'6, plenty of gear space provided I don't go crazy. Kevlar Carbon so light enough to lift easily. Good thing as it's now mounted up on top of my RV which is an interesting process to get it up and down. Have to be a little careful with it in places like mosquito Lagoon with muscle shells, and i think if I got in a battle with a rock I'd lose, but I love it.
I know what you mean about the shells. I have so many dings and nicks in my yak that I am no longer worried about what it looks like. I wouldnt have any fun if I did....
Currently I am paddling a 16 foot Tesla touring kayak. Nice comfy coat even for a guy thats 6'1" and 240+/ It has 2 dry sections and is a very easy boat to paddle. I am about to start building Skin On Frame boats (SOF) Aleutin and Greenland style. I am planning on at least 3 single and probaby 2 tandems. Anyone interested let me know. I am almost always up fopr a paddle too
Here is my Gatoryak. I love this thing. When we paddle the Sante Fe River and we come to Ginnie Springs where all the college kids hang out at....it is Gatorland you know..all the kids go wild over my yak....
