We camped at Suwannee River SP back in March. It's right off US 90, and the train tracks parallel the highway. Two or three times a night it sounded like the train was rumbling right through our campsite. :)

Dayhike at Torreya SP

My wife and son had a 4H thing to do today, so my daughter and I decided to get out and enjoy the nice weather with a short dayhike at Torreya SP. The sky was bright blue and the temperature was just cool enough to keep us from working up a sweat. We saw three deer before we'd left the neighborhood, and a swallow tail kite as we drove down Bloxham Cutoff. It seemed like it would be a good day for wildlife viewing.

Sunday Drive in the ANF

I rode over to the ANF this past Sunday with a friend of mine to look for pitcher plants and other photo ops. We scared up a few gators, sunning themselves by the water-filled ditches. The forest was very flooded, and we've had lots more rain since. Anyone headed out that way to hike should definitely take an extra pair of socks and some water wings.
