I heard that it caused a fire that burned an area on the Florida Trail. I believe Sandra was checking it out.
I am up for a campout at either one when it gets cooler. Maybe we could get a group together. I want to see the rest of the area. This was a spectactular place to hike.
I have a picture of the horse camp but I was talking about the primitive campsite off of the Ravine Trail. We never hiked out that far but had talked about checking it out next time.
Congratulations Barbara! I will definately go back there again. Maybe the campout at the primative site would be a good trip to plan.
No I did not make the eyes with a marker, the photo is 100% nature made ;)
Wish I could do this but we are taking my dad to lunch Saturday for Fathers Day. You know how I like hiking Paynes Praire in the hotest part of summer:)

Florida Thru Hiker
Some of you may have met this girl at one of the Florida Trail conferences. She is a thru hiker from Germany who contacted me when she was hiking in the section I oversee. Thought I would post her Blog so you could follow her travels and give her some encouragement as her hike has not been the best experience.

- The hiked started out cold (28 deg) but warmed up quickly to mid 60's. Everyone that showed up (16 people out of an original 50 people) had great attitudes. Great people! It took me 1/3 of the hike to figure out that was the George you were talking about. =) He comes down once per year to hike for a week. You could probably hook up with him again on another leg of the trail.
I will post a blog and photos in the next couple of days.

- HAHA thank you so much for your comment, but you got to give it to FootTrax for taking us to this great place, it was a beautiful 5mile hell of water and adventure that took us 8 hours of nonstop hiking.
It was the best hiking of my life so far.

Bricky Way said… - Janie, I wanted to let you know I might not be out in the morning, I have some cold and/or allergy stuff going on that has me feeling weak. Its definitely not swine flu, at least. I'm still hoping to come though.
