"Yeah, I parked at FS 13, there is a small turnout big enough for a few vehicles.  I had to detour through the woods near Stage Pond too back in October, wonder what that's like in a really wet year?"

"I overnighted at Taylor Camp (D Loop) a few months back. (Very hot weekend) The site wasn't bad at all, almost no skeeters. Getting around Stage Pond was a issue, very flooded and had to detour off the trail a good ways to get through. Boots…"

"If this helps any the primitive campsite on the D loop is in a pretty low-lying area, I would think the mosquitoes would get bad at dusk.  I started where FR 13 crossed the D loop, north of Tillis Hill, and walked counterclockwise so I would be…"

"I haven’t done D loop yet, we did A and B loop only. We started at Holder Mine and camped at Jackson primitive campsite. We will do C and D separately in a couple of weeks. Looking at the map looks like Mutual Mine is the safest way to go."

"The D loop is really cool, it covers a really nice variety of habitats, I'd agree that it is one of the best hikes in FL.  A loop was nice too, has some cool topography and well-maintained sandhill habitat."
