I'm spending some time in the Gainesville area for the next couple of days and today I made a stop in at the Mill Creek Farm Retirement Home for Horses in Alachua. I've heard of the farm, but have never visited, so it was a definite treat to see firsthand the amazing work that Mary and Peter Gregory and their team of volunteers do to provide a peaceful setting for the horses in their care. A way to meet other singles that enjoy the same outdoor activities as you do. A place where we can coordinate group hikes, meetups and other events surrounded by folks that share the same interests as you do.

I've gotten some stuff from Big Lots, I still use this little lightweight aluminum pot thingie that I got from there a few years back.
Check on Craigslist for some used gear - I've came across a thing or two there as well. For day hikes, you won't…
