Smoky Mountain Trip March 2009

Well I survived, ha. Had a blast and met plenty of folks including many AT thru hikers. One day we had bad weather : 30 degrees, 70mph wind (figure out the wind chill on your own), constant rain and almost all uphill rocky trail. It was certainly a "What the hell am I doing here?" moments for us all.

I'm ready for some flat land for a while before I head back up there, what a trip.

How cool is this?

Friend of mine found hiking boots that will fit my son and are identical to what i wear. My son is 3 years old, they will fit him by christmas time this year so will save it for a gift under the tree.

Little Big Econlockhatchee

I'm gonna do this hike with a few other friends next week, will stay one night and gorge on noodles. Will snap a few pics and post up when I get back. This will be the last group hike we do before we all head up in March for the Smoky Mtn 4 day hike we have planned.

Big Oak Trail

I am doing the Big Oak Trail with a friend next week as one of a few prep hikes for a bigger trip I have planned. The two of us will be joined by two other friends in a couple months for a 4 day hike in Tennessee.
